Continuing Education Opportunities for Georgia Paralegals

by Vickie Perry, Internet Marketing Assistant Vickie Perry Barker Virtual Paralegal (vickie@fullservicesupport.com)

As the paralegal profession continues to grow at a fast pace, not only in Georgia but also, throughout the US, legal professionals are finding the job market more competitive than ever before. Much has contributed to the growth of the legal profession, including but not limited to recent job losses, dissolution of law firms, a stale job market, and a new wave of professionals transitioning into the legal industry.
With the growth of the industry and increased competitiveness, it is imperative that paralegals and other legal professionals remain attractive to potential employers. One way to stay on the cutting edge is to invest your time (and sometimes money) in continuing education through live seminars, online training, webinars, or teleconferences.
If you’re a paralegal or legal assistant in or around the metro Atlanta area, there are two upcoming seminars/training sessions you may find helpful.
Free E-Discovery Seminar for Atlanta Paralegals
Merrill Corporation, in partnership with ParalegalGateway.com, will host a free seminar, “Anatomy of E-Discovery,” for paralegals, legal assistants, and other legal professionals on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia.
The free seminar will focus on the steps of the e-discovery process, including what is required of legal professionals, how to access projects, and helpful techniques you can use to review files electronically. The seminar will also cover common legal terms used in e-discovery matters, as well as resources you may find helpful.
The seminar will take place at Merrill Corporation, 1117 West Peachtree Street, Atlanta, GA 30309. It will commence at 11:30 and end at 1:00pm on Wednesday, October 7, 2009. Lunch and free parking will be provided to all participants.
If you’d like to take advantage of this awesome opportunity, please RSVP to Jeannie Johnston at jjohnston@ParalegalGateway.com.
