The Hawaii Paralegal Association (HPA)
Description: The Hawaii Paralegal Association (HPA) is a non-profit Hawaii corporation that was formed in 1978 to meet the need for a professional association for paralegals. HPA is an active participant in the legal community and sponsors regular activities, individually and in conjunction with the State Bar Association and the Hawaii Institute for Continuing Legal Education. The purposes of HPA are to maintain high standards of performance in the paralegal professionTo inform members of developments in the paralegal profession; to encourage and provide continuing education for paralegals; to promote awareness and educate the community regarding the effective use of paralegals; and to foster communication, education and understanding among members of the legal profession and the community.

Paralegal Schools and CLE
Kapi’olani Community College
Description: The Paralegal program has been ABA approved since 1978. Program courses are offered only in the evenings. The majority of the courses are located at the Richardson School of Law at the UH Manoa campus, with computer courses being offered at the Kapi’olani Community College campus, which is located on 53 acres on the slopes of Diamond Head. They work closely with the Hawaii State Bar Association and the Hawaii Paralegal Association.
Type of Institution:Public, 2 yr. ABA Approved.
Degrees Offered & Conditions: Associate in Science.
Minimum length of time to complete program: 60 semester hours.
