Athens Technical College

Description: Athens Technical College offers an associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies. Morning and evening classes are offered. The introductory course is offered online. Class size is limited to 18 students with emphasis on quality instruction both in groups and one-on-one with students. The courses are primarily taught by faculty though adjuncts are used to enhance the program. Faculty is licensed attorneys with significant experience in the practice of law and management of paralegals. Emphasis of study is in the practical application of paralegal tasks and on the use of technology in modern legal practice.

Clayton State University

Description: Clayton State University offers an ABA approved Certificate and A.A.S in Paralegal Studies. The classes are taught in the evening and on weekends. All the full-time and part-time instructors are attorneys who are eager to share their practical experiences with the students.

Type of Institution: Public, 4 yr. ABA Approved.

Degrees Offered & Conditions: Associate in Applied Science, Post-secondary Certificate. Minimum length of time to complete program: 61 semester hours for A.A.S; 30 semester hours for Certificate.

Gainesville State College

Description: Gainesville State College has been a leader and innovator in the field of paralegal education since 1979. The Paralegal Program is taken for academic credit and is offered through the Business Division of the college. Students completing our program receive either an Associate of Applied Science degree or a Certificate. The goal of our Paralegal Program is not only to train students in the practical application of legal theory, but to fine tune their analytical, communication and organizational skills, while always being aware of the unauthorized practice of law prohibition.

South University – Savannah

Description: Bachelor and Associate Degree programs feature a curriculum delivered by full-time faculty and experienced legal professionals. South University emphasizes analytical and critical thinking skills while providing the base knowledge to assist attorneys in investigating cases and preparing documentation for litigation or transactions. Students are engaged in active learning activities such as preparing case files. The coursework familiarizes them with specialty areas of the law so graduates can work as paralegals and perform substantive legal work for which a lawyer is responsible. A number of online courses are available.
