Seminar Tips

Develop a checklist to ensure that you leave nothing undone.

Have a firm placard identifying your firm made by a graphic artist or professional sign maker to place outside your seminar area. Hotels frequently forget identifying signs.

Purchase a crystal bowl and make a small sign asking attendees to place their business card in the bowl for future seminar mailings.

Bring plastic business card holders for each speaker’s cards to place on the registration table to make it easy for attendees to pick up cards if the speaker is unavailable.

Provide sign-up sheets on clipboards to enable attendees to sign up for future planned seminars.

Ask the hotel in advance free drink cards for seminar attendees.

Hire a cassette recording company to record and make cassettes of the seminars available immediately following the seminar.

Make sure every attendee gets a follow-up letter from the firm.

Follow up on CPE credits for seminar attendees.

Always check the audio equipment in advance and double-check on the hotel personnel to ensure that everything is in place.

As a courtesy send persons who could not make the seminar all the materials.

If you are a speaker, do not dash out after the seminar. Most of your business will come from after seminar chats with attendees. Be sure to get their business card and later note on the back what you talked about with the cardholder.
