Connecticut Association of Paralegals Inc. (CAP)
Description: The Connecticut Association of Paralegals (”CAP”) was formed in 1975 by a group of students enrolled in the Legal Assistant Program at Sacred Heart University. It is a professional, non-profit organization composed of paralegals working in all areas of the law, including paralegal students as well as other individuals and institutions interested in furthering the paralegal profession and its development. It offers continuing legal education for paralegals.

Central Connecticut Paralegal Association, Inc.(CCPA)
Description: CCPA strives to promote and strengthen the paralegal profession locally by promoting the common business interests of paralegals; offering continuing legal education to paralegals; educating employers and consumers about the role of paralegals in various sectors delivering legal services; maintaining mutually beneficial working relationships with local, state and national bar associations and other paralegal associations; and maintaining relationships with state- accredited academic legal educations programs for paralegals.

New Haven County Association of Paralegals, Inc. (NH-CAP)
Description: New Haven County Association of Paralegals (NHCAP) was organized in 1980. It is a non-profit professional organization for paralegals. Non-voting membership is available to students, institutions and individuals with an interest in the paralegal profession. The association promotes networking of paralegals within the profession. It also offers continuing legal education.

Description: The curriculum for degree course provides students with a general background in the major fields of law practiced in law offices. Skillful use of the English language and a high level of verbal competence are essential for completion of the Legal Assistant program. Successful completion of the program leads to an AS degree.
The certificate program has been prepared for and is open to those who have a bachelor’s or an associate’s degree with a minimum of 18 liberal arts credits. The program consists of the Legal Assistant courses and Business Law I and II. Successful completion of the program leads to a certificate of 30 credit hours of college study.

Description: The HCW Paralegal Program at the University of Hartford is designed to meet the needs of part-time working students. Classes are scheduled in the evening and on weekends.
